(BV TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION) NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night. A ten-roomed house occupied by Mr Ooker. of Messrs Collier aud Coy. auil owned by Judge Kawson, of Tnvercargill, was burned down at tj.oO, this morning, (he origin is uuknown, but tlie (iro is supposed to have begun in the kitchen. The family were awakened by the smoke aud found the flames had such a hold ou the building that they only had time to alesr from the house iu their night dresses. The building was iusured for £300 in thu South British, and the furniture for £200, and the piano for £40 in the Union. Nothing was saved.
MASTERTON, Last Kight. It is stated that two new special settlement Associations arc being formed at the the forty Mile Bush. The application of ouc for 2000 aures, it is said, has already been granted.
About 50 summons are being issued at onue against defaulting subscribers to the Pieturcsijue Altas,
