[UV KLECi'UII! TELEGRAPH.—COrVKI&HT.] Melboukne, October IJO. Tuii Metropolitan Board of Works will place a two million loan on tlio London market in January next. Tho money is to be devoted towards sewerage purposes. Tho House of Assembly has passed thn Loan Bill.

The Stock Exchange displays a very hostile attitude towards the proposed Victorian loan, and asserts that it will be impossible to iloat a 4 per cent, loan sit par. The Melbourne Metropolitan Board of Works Loan, which it is ijroposed to place on the market in January, is also regarded as impossible, unless 10 per cent, is allowed for underwriting.
