Three hundred entries for the various event were received up to Saturday, and it is expected these will be increased to 1)00- Atnong the entries are the Wairoa Mounted Infantry, South Franklin Mounted Rilies, Matlboro Hussars, Waioku Cavalry, Nanier. Lvtteltori and Wellington Artiilurv, Wellington Citv and Napier Ritbs. Permanent Artillery, Wellington (Juards, Napier, Wellington and l'etono Navals, Ot-igo Hussars, and the Canterbury Mounted Rifles. Several oilier corps have intimated their intention of competing. At a meeting of tho committee of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Society to-day, it was decided that tho athletic event to he run under the rules of the Association at the Wellington Military Tournament must be confined to amateurs only. __
