Native schools and land will be inspected, and he will visit the Maories of the YVaiapti district, who arc stricken with the typhoid fever epidemic. The Minister, at the annie time, is endeavouring to make himself acquainted with the grievances and native land difficulties which now prevail along the coast. OHRISTCH URCH, Last Night. The Christchnrch branch of the Federated Bootmakers' Union met today and declined to accept the new statement of prices in its present form, aB issued by the masters last Saturday. The branch is agreeable to a manufacturers' conference on the matter. WANGANUI, Last Night. William Noble got two years' hard labour and Harry Laing one year for robbery from the person. For setting fire to the Commercial Hotel, Francis Penny was sentenced to eighteen months' hard labour.
