VALUABLE PETROLEUM DEPOSIT. (BV TKI.&iIUI'H. — OWN' CORnKSPOVDEST.) llorom.'A, Last Nicht. A syndicate has been formed to developo the mineral deposits known to exist at. Waiotapu. Petroleum of a very rich q;i:.lity has been found, and an analysis having been made, shows it to be SUM") per cent, which is said to be ">0 percent better than any oi! yet discovered m the colony ; and hematite, of creat value in pottery works, paints, etc., has also been found, samples of winch have been sent to Melbourne. The syndicate at present is composed of twenty-two gentlemen belMiifcinK to Melbourne and Napier, and the head orlic) and Hoard of Directors will be at Napier. The capital is fixed at £100,000, one-half of which will be allotted to the public.
