ENTERTAINMENT IN HAMILTON.

Ak entertainment was given in the Public Mall, Hamilton, on Saturday evening, in aid of I he Catholic Pieshytery. The attendance was lii.t very large, owing no doubt to the peopla being tire.l with their day's cutins al the races. The larrikin element was present, in force, and created considerable distui banco. The first part consisted of a concert, and the second of tho farce "Domestic Keonoiny," played by the Cambridgii Dramatic Club. The various items were well rendered, the most noticeable among thorn being the relation; by Miss WaUter and Mr Montague, and the comic songs hy Mr George .Mayes, all of which were encored. The cornet duet hy Mr and Master Mettam was executed in a masterly manner, and the pianoforte duet by the Misses Wallnntt was very nicely performed. The vocal duets " Friendship," by the Mioses Coombes, and " The Larboard Watch," bv Mr and Miss Taylor, and the solos by Miss Taylor and Miss Cassidy received ample justice by the performers. ' The overture and accompaniments were played by Miss Missen. The farce was well played, f.lm various parts being well taken, Mr C. Tuck and Miss Roberts being especially goori. The following was the programme :—Overture ; glee, " Carnival," Misses Taylor, Messrs Edgecombe and Taylor ; recitation, Mr Montague ; song, " Dear Kobin," Miss Taylor ; cornet duet, "Norma,'' Mr and Master Mettam ; song, " Remember Mo No More," Miss Cassidy ; comic song, John Maloney," Mr Mayes; recitation, " The Woman of Mumble's Head,'' Miss Walker; duet, "Friendship," Misses Coomhes ; piannfoito duet. Misses Wallnntt; duet, "Larboard Watch,'' Mr and Miss Taylor ; comic song, Mr Mayes ; recitation, " 1 tow We Beat the. Favourite," (by request) Mr Montague ;glee, "May Day," Minxes Taylor, Messrs Fdgecumbe and Taylor. Tho following is the caste of characters in the farce " Domestic .Keonoiny ":—John Grumley, Mr Charles Tuck ;Sorct. Tom Brown. Mr W. Walker; Jooy (Crumley's son). Master W. Tuck; Mrs Crumley, Miss Roberts; Mrs Shackles, Miss McKernan ; Mrs Knaglev, Miss Mackay ; Peggy Brown, Miss Tuck.
