Cyrus is the winner of many first prizes, and was got by Mr JLaverack's Emperor, who was sold to the King of Italy for a large sum. Lord John, when a foal, along with his dam, won 13 first-class prizes as the best coaching brood mare and foal, including the Great Yorkshire of £20. Duchess, the dam of Mountaineer, has taken 14 first prizes.
