Mil Ai.kx. Aitkkn strongly advises Waikato farmers to consign no more potatoes this season, as they will bs ablu to use them uioio profitably for feeding purposes at home. At present them is more in thu market than will ba required until the new crop is available. During the week W3ll on to two thousand sacks have been disposed of but sales have been forced at auction. Waik-ito lots fetched from -Oα to 10s per ton, while the average might be putdo.vn at liOs. Napiers, to which the present state is due, are selling at 15s to :Ws per ton. Taranaki sorts, which 31.-- per ton, freights and cartages, are difficult to quit in any quanity at this price, leaving nothing lor the unfnrtunatu consignor. Tho presmit state is deplorable, uud outside of tho Waikuto, Kj.sr and Want, coasts and South yet hold thousand.-, of lons which will not ofcmusn pay fur bagging.
