A mass meetina was held tonight on the Reclamation land for the pnrp •*(: uf protesting against the rejection of the Labour Bills loy tho Legislative Council. Messrs Kelly and How, M.H.R.k, addressed tlie meeting, at which about 1000 were present. Messrs Fisher and Fish wrote explaining that they thought while Parliament is in session it was not judicious lh.it members of one chamber should ci'tideinu members of the other and therefore they did not attend. The following resolution was carried: — "That in the opinion of this meeting the prejudiced action of the Legislative Council in dealing with the Billb that have passed through tho House of Representatives this session (especially Sir Georgu Grey's Friendly Society's Act Amendment Bill) is unjust and deserving of censure and that in protesting against such action this meeting also request the Government to take such steps as will give them fair representation in the Legislative Council next session to ensure tho safe passage of their 8i115. ,:
