Hodgson, of To Rore, sold for £2 2s; also, a pen of similar steers, one and a half years old, £3 Is. There was keen competition for tiiese. being well grown and in good condi tion. Grown steers were in request and B'ild well, Fat cattle in full number, the floater part selling at satisfactory prices. Eves at lambing and all classes of sheen wire easier. The following prices were obt lined :—Cdves, 25s to 30s; yearlings, £1 7< C.d to £2 2s ; 1J to 2-years-olri, £2 "m to £3 1* ; 24-year-old steers, nearly beef, £3 3s to £1 la ; 3 and 4-year-old steers, £3 IDs to £4 ss; heifer calves. 18s to 20s; Ito 2-year-old heifera, £1 Is to £1 16a ; empty cows, £1 10s tn £2 11s ; fat cows aud heifers, £3 to Jt'4 l.'is; long-wool ewes, at lambing, 15s; crossbred hoggets, 10s 3d to 10a Gd each. — At Hamilton on Thursday, 20th August, there was again a full yard of cattle and n'icep, but nob many horses were yarded. Cattle wero in demand and all sold. Dairy eows were required and mado good prices. Those of Mr J. Barugh, being highly commended, sold well. Prices were :—Yearling steers, £110s to £115s ; l<t to 2-year-old steers, £2 5a to £2 10s; empty cows and hnifors, £1 10* to £2 10s; dairy cows, £3 Its to £5 17r; fat cows, £4 3s to £4 10s; fat heifers, £2 17s to £3 15s; fat wethers, lfi.-i 5d ; long-wool ewes, los 4d; draught horses, £8 to £12. —At Tβ Awamutu on Saturday, 22nd August, there was a large quantity of produce, sheep, pigs, and cattie, but not many horses. There was a- large attendance, and good prices ruled. Fowls, Is to Is ild ; pigs, 4s to 10s; apple trees, 6d to Is 4d ; plum and peach trees, (id to Is 3d e ich ; merino ewes and lambs, 8s 10d; dry B*o', 7s 2d ; a pen of grand Lincoln 2-tooth wethers, bred and owned by Mr John Boaanko, sold for 19s 6d each ; hacks and ponies sold from £2 to £7; medium draught horses from £S to £11; a heavy draught mare, £20.
