Aitkgs's Maukbt Report.— T'or the week ending August 22, the demand for produce generally has been fairly active, both privately and at auction, and considerable quantities were quitted. Prices generally show but little chance. Fruit and produce sales have been four in number, nil well attended with fair amount of competition and satisfactory results. The potato market may be reported as f.omewhat mora steady, although there is lml little chance of prices advancing. Stocks have heen considerably reduced during the week at £2 5s to £2 10s for Napiers ; Waikato table, £2 5s to £2 10s ; Waikato seed, good samples, .£2 10s to £3 ; poor lots, .£2 to £2 5s ; kidney (magnum bonum) and Hreese's prolilic, £3 to £4 for good lines ; and £2 to £2 10s for poor lots ; Shepherds, £3. Onions : Glutted with poor lots at 2s ui-r cwt to Id per lb ; and carrots, 25s to 40s tier ton ; mangolds, 9d to Is ; pumpkins, !)d to 2s per cwt ; wheat, broken, 3s Sri ; whole, 4.i ; maize, 2s 9d ; bran, 4s lOd ; sharps, 5s lOd : now kidneys.
