High officials are in favour of a pure- bred Chinaman being elected Emperor, and tlie present Tartar dynasty expelled. Peicix, August 10. The Emporor of China refrains from yielding to European pressure because he is doubtful of the loyalty of the provinces, and any movement against rebellious subjects may imperil tho dynasty. Berlin', August 20. The North German Gazette states that the Get-man mission and trade is suffering in China. lION'OKOXG, August 20. The Chinese Government has instructed'its ambassadors at Berlin to protest against Germany assisting the other powers without grounds, and state that no Germans were injured during the recent riots.
