For seed varieties Waikato growers will have to accept lower rates than they are at present inclined, in order to compete against Southern shipments, which can now be landed at £2 2s. We quote to-day ; Napiers, 35s 40s; Waikato table, 40s to 455; seed— Hobarts, 453 to 50b, demand slow ; Magnum Bonuuis and Shepherds, stocks cleared yesterday; kidneys are very dull 'f sale. Oats are very quiet—for local, Is Gd to Is 9d is about tho average: bright, short, 2s; white and black Tartarian, 2s Gd to 2s 7d, Chaff : Nominal, t'3; demand quiet. Bran and sharps are inquired for, but as green food increasos the demand will fall off. Fowl wheat continues scarce, but is not in brisk demand, owing to other cereals being cheap. Maize is Hcarco this week, hut ample supplies aro daily expected. The quality of onions is vory poor, except Canterbury, and prices accordingly. The usual demand continues for mangolds, pumpkins, and carrots, at current rates.
