The agricultural returns collected with the census show ail average decrease in the yield of wheat of five bushels per aero for the year ending 31st March. The colony produces three bushels per bead of population, and consumes six and a half. Other cereals are about up to the average, maize alone showing a slight increase. Two vessels, Brandon and Venn*, are overdue from Capetown. Taken in con.' nectiou with the derelict sighted by the Emma L. Shaw, it is feared one of these vessels has oertainly been lost. A Bill lias been introduced to allow seven of the largest shareholders to dispose of the goodwill and assets of the bank.
