THE STEAMER INDUSTRY.
RETURNS TO PORT LEAKY,
(BY TELEGRAPH—PUEBS ASSOCIATION.) Bluff, Last Night. The steamer Industry which left here at 11.30 p.m. on Wednesday for Syduey with a full cargj of grain put back into port last night leaking. The captain (jives no information, but it is known that the vessel touched the rocks when going out of the harbour, she being then in charge of the captain who holds a pilotage exemption certificate. U'lie vessel at the time of touching was out of the channel, but the captain states that he had to give way to some cutters entering the harbour and in doing so, the tide caught the vessel on her port bow taking her in shore. Ttie Industry is lying at tho wharf waiting instructions from the owners, she is making water freely, the steam pump 3 being kept going constantly. The extent of damage to hull and cargo is not yet known, fully four-lifths of the cargo was shipped by lnvercargill firms, but the amount of insurances are not known.
