+. . (BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH — COPYRIGHT'j Loxiiox, August 10. Tub Prince of Wales opened the Hygienic and Demographic Congress today. In his speech he specially welcomed the Australiau delegates. Fully one thousand representatives of various nations and countries were present. Dr. Ashburton Thompson, of Sydney, read a paper on the subject of quarantine. The English press unite in proclaiming the Congress the uicst important one ever held. August 11. After the opening of the Hygienic Congress the Prince of Wales dined with the Council of the College of Physicians, and afterwards attended a conversazione given by the College of Surgeons. Then; is a large attendance of Foreign Socialists at the Hygienic Congress. So far the proceedings have been of little interest to the public.
