Waikato and Hobartseed is plentiful, hut the season is tint yet on for this line ; a fair rpiantity was sold on Friday at £3, for which price all lots are held. Kidneys, prime samples, 114 ; ordinary, £3 10s; Shepherd's, £3 to £3 10s; magnum bonuni, £1 to £5; oarly rose, Gs to 8s per sack. Onions: Heavy supplies have been all cleared, the quality of which has been only second class ; prices have ranged from id to Jtl por lb, and 2s to 8s 6d per cwt. New kidney potatoes, Jd. Wheat: Hrnkon, 3s 8d ; good whole, 4s to 4s 2d. Barley is very cpuet at 2s ltd ; this is dus to the drop in maize, which is in good demand. I have oleared several small consignments of new at 2s Id ; old, 2s 4d to 2s Bd. Bran, £4 to £4 10-i; sharps, £5 10s. Local oats of poor qii dity are held in quantities; fair quality quitted at Is 7d to Is !).l ; short foed, 2s ; Southern seed sorts, 2s 3d to 2s 6.1. Mangolds met with speedy sale at 20- to 30s per ton. Carrots have also gone off freely at from Is 3d to Is Gd for white, and Is 6:1 to 2s for red. Vegetables of all kinds were staged in good quantities and sold well. In dairy produce a good business has been done, and prices have been very satisfactory. Fresh butter ; A quantity from Taranaki realised fraiii Is 3d to Is 4d ; local dairies, from Monday to Thursday, 1s 2d to Is 3d ; Friday's sale. Is 4sd to Is (id. Keg butter: Abnut 80 kegs from various makers quitted on arrival; prime lines, lOrl to Is ; one lino prime quality sold right out at Is; other good ordinary lots, 8d to OJd ; good pastry, (5,1 to ; interior, I.M to 3d. In the face of thoso figures, wo recommend the Waikato holders to defer shipping for a time. We sold by auction on Tuesday "on account of whom itmay concern,"2sl3saoks,ex Pendle llill (originally loaded for Sydney), to one buyer), at a figure that must ontail loss on the shippers. We quote—prices, nominal, at £2 to £2 os f!d ; Waikato £2 ss. Hnbart Heed ; Supplies plentiful inquiries few ; price .63. We have doubts as to this being maintained when tho demand is more active. Shuphords, £3 10s ; Magnum Ronums, £3 15s to t'l; Southorn kidneys, ,£}; local, none on hand ; now pitatnes Ad to jd. Maize: The market is weak and has a declining tendency. Dairy produce : There is a great scarcity at present of prime fresh butter, and our anticipations of a sharp udvnnco have been confirmed. We had supplies from 13 daiii"s mi Thursday, the prices ranging from Is 3d to Is fijd, tho demand being far from satisfied. Second quality is more plentiful at 9d to lOd ; corned, 01 to Bd. Keg butter, if Al sample, is also in strong request at an nvorageof 8d to lOd ; seconds, . r nJ to t!|d ; pastry, about 3d.
