The Premier introduced the Payment of Members Hill this afternoon, ft is provided by this Bill that members . are to receive J2210 a-year, payable at the ia' e of £20 per month. It is considered this will oveicome the uifliunity arising when two sessions occur m one year because the member of a dissolved parliament will draw his monthly salary up to the date of dissolution and his successor will then take it up. Members of the Legislative Council are to receive £100 a year under tho new Bill. MR HAMILTON'S PUX3IOX. I understand that the pension payable to Mr R. C Han.erton in terms of the Public Accounts Committee recommendation has been ascertained by the Audit Department to be £154 a year. Had it calculated upon his additional term of ollice as Public Trustee the amount would have been nearly IMOO, but the Committee recommend that tho pension should only have effect up to 18S0 when lie coased to be Commissioner of Stamps and accepted the position of Public Trustee.
