PRESBYTERIAN OONCERT AT CAMBRIDGE.

Tiik Presbyterian concert that had been adjourned about three weeks ago eventuated on Thursday in the Public Hall, Cambridge, and proved a great success, although several individuals were prevented from performing through indisposition. The hall was well filled, and the audience appeared to be thoroughly satisfied with the entertainment, of which the following was the programme :—lnstrumental trio, Messrs Hartley, Pnckey, and JlcDormott, on violin. vioHncello, and piauofoite, respectively ; glee, " Now Pray we for our Country," choir ; song, "Three Jolly Sailor Boys,"'Mr H. T. Fletcher ; reading, Archdeac.m Willis; song, "The Fisherboy," Jliss JJ. Huberts ; recitation, " Tho Coachman's Story," Mr F. I'ilcher ; song, " The Warrior Bold," Mr Patterson ; glee, " Mark the Merry Hives," choir. Interval. Piano duet, Jackson's " Maruhe Hongroise," the Archer ; glee, " Jlen of Harlech," choir; song, "'Anchored,' Mr Fletcher; recitation, "Counting One, Hundred," Mr 0. Roberts ; song, " After Sundown," Jliss. Roberts : whistling solo, Jlr Pilcher ; recitation, " Tho Bapteesment o' the Bairne," Mr R. Watson ; instrumental trio, Messrs Hartly, Puckey, and MeDermott ; glee. " Hail Smiling Morn," choir. The singing of tho National Anthem closed the concert. The only lady soloist was Jliss Roberts, who possesses a sweet soprano voice, but owing to excessive nervousness she appeared at a great disadvantage. Anyone, who has witnessed tho sang froid with which this lady can take part in a dramatic entertainment would hardly imagine that a change from histiionic to mosieal art could cause such a difference. Mr Patterson likewise suffered from nervousness ; lie, however, possesses a good rich voice, and, with a little training, Would prm e an acquisition to the singing fraternity. Jlr Fletcher was in voice, the "Three Jolly Sailor Hoys" being his be>t effort. gentleinan possesses a really good baritone voice. Jlr Pilcher gave his recitation in a splendid niiiuner, and was vociferously encored, lie then gave ladies a lesson in etiquette, which caused much laughter, llis whistling solo was also encored, it being rendered very sweetly. Jlr Roberts' recitation was a good one; ami it goes without saying that Mr Watson v.-as encored for "The Bapteesment o' the Bairn.' 1 It was a wonderful feat of memory, as it occupied fully fifteen minutes in delivery. In response to the encore he sang "The pally Hooley Hoise," for which he was again applauded. The instrumental trios went well, with the exception of the violin, which was decidedly "off colour." The choir rendered the glees in an able manner. They hail been trained by Mr Stephenson, and were accompanied by a small orchestra, which included two ladies. We need hardly say the Misses Archer did full justice to their piano duet, for whenever these ladies perform, their selections always bear the stamp of having been thoroughly studied. The entertainment evidently did not suffer iu coiiaonnetice of tlie udjouiuuicut.
