Mr Mammond (seecder) and Mr Kettle (Parnellite) have been nominated for the Carlow constituency, rendered vacant by the death of The O'Gorman Mahon.
Mr Morehead, speaking at a banquet, said it behoved everyone to come to the rescue of Queensland in her present strain. He regarded with grave apprehension the election of so many labour members in New South Wales, which meant that agitators, who never cared for the welfare of labour, were ready to set class against class.
