F, (iarrick, Agent-tieneral for the colony presided, Tim chairman ill the course of his speech said he believed in the future, both the l ioveriiinent and the people of ijueensland would be careful to make both ends meet. Hon. 15. D. Mo ahead hoped that both parties would combine to get tho colony out of the labour truii ble, mil he commended the actiun of the Government in connection with the recent strike of shearers. He suggested that the labour difficulty would be met by an increased immigration. It was, ho thought, a mistake for the Agent-t leneral to bo u political oUieer and ho ought to be an ambassador.
