SUDDEN DEATH OF MR H. FARNELL.
Mil H. W. F.UINKLL. the late labour candidate for Auckland, expired suddenly at Okoroire on Friday evening. He had been staying at the Kotorua Sanatorium, and on Friday journeyed to Okoroire by Crosby's coach, and put up at Isaacs' Hotel. Not feeling well, he had some tea and toast and went to bed at about a-quarter to 7 o'clock. At 8 o'clock his light was still burning, and upon going to ascertain if ho required anything, ha was found lying across the bed dead but not yet cold. THE IXQUKST. On Saturday morning information was sent to Constable Brennan, at Cambridge, and he, with Thos. Wells, Esq., J.P., and Dr. Cushney, proceeded to Okoroire to hold an inquest on the body. The jury consisted of: —Messrs J. Tyson (foreman), A. Isaacs, H. Gillman, J. Robson, C. Bull, and D. O'Loughlin. Sydney Haig deposed that ho drove deceased from Rotorua on Friday, when he eeemed unwell, but was able to get off the coach without help. Mr Isaacs deposed that deceased was at Okoroire on April 27th, and he again came there on the previous evening. He (Mr Isaacs) noticed that he appeared bloated and was not looking well, but he made no furcher complaint than that he did not feel well. He went to bed, and was found dead as above described. Dr. Cushney made a post-mortem examination, and certified that deceased was suffering from heart and lung disease, and a'so dropsy. There were no marks of violence on the body, and it would have been impossible for deceased to have lived but a short time with such a complication of diseases. A verdict in accordance with the medical evidence was returned. The friends of deceased in Auckland telegraphed to Mr Isaacs not to sparo any expense in arranging for the funeral.
