Tho Auckland East Licensing Committee to-day gave several applicants strong warning re Sunday trading, ordered tho re-bmlding of the Railway Terminus Hotel, and notified the Provincial Hotel that the license probably would not be renewed after the expiration of the present year. At tho Police Court, to-day, John Farrah, carrier at Bombay, was charged with a breach of the game laws for selling pheasants without a license. The evidence showed that the game had been shot by William Evans, who held a license, and the magistrate said it would be monstrous to prevent a carrier bringing down tho game and giving them to a dealer to dispose, and he dismissed the case. Tho Winter Meeting of tho Racing Club, fixed for to-day, was postponed till next Saturday, owing to the sloppy course.
