In the House of Lords to-day, in moving the second reading of the Hill enforcing tin; modus vivendi with Franco in connection with the Newfoundland tishing question, Lord Kuutsford promised that this Government would not proceed with the measure in the House <>f Commons, provided that the Newfoundland Parliament, passed a measure equivalent to it after Whitsuntide.
