Tm: Newfoundland fishermen have .itteinpted to evade the provisions of the bait laws, but tin; vigilance of the police prevented it, and a serious riot resulted. April 22. The police have arrested many fishermen trying to run the blockade with bait for French fishing vessels. "Washington, April, -1. Thu Supreme Courl has further postponed the consideration of the appeal from Canada for annulment of t.ho seizure of the Canadian schooner W. I'.
