STRIKE RIOTS.
(JIV KLECTMU TKI.K(;H.\I'H— COI'VIUCKT.) Loxnox, April 1. , ). TIIE police dispersed a meeting of mill hands on strike at Bradford with batons. There is great excitement in the place, and the military are held in readiness. April 14. Rioting, which lasted for many hours, took place at Bradford, where the mill hands have gone out on strike. The police questioned the right of the men to hold public meetings, and when they attempted to disperse the gathering, the strikers forcibly resented their interference. The outcome was a. general riot, and the assistance of the: military was evoked. The soldiers and the police with fixed bayonets charged the rioters, and during the scuffle many of the latter were wounded. Several of those in the crowd threw open knives lit the police. Twenty of tin; rioters were arrested.
