FATAL DROWNING ACCIDENT.
(i;v TELiioKAi'ir. —i-kess association). ■Rklkton, List Night. Moouk Mawhjxxj.y, the landlord of the Crushington llotel, was accidentally drowneil in the Inangtiluiu river last night. Deceased and a man named John Murphy were on their way home from Rceftnii, mid when abonl. li-ilf a mile away on the Black's Point road Mawhinney fell over the bank into the river, falling about 20 feet into the surging water, the river being in a fresh at this time. A scarch party was out all night, and the body was discovered at eight this morning washed on the shingle bank about half a mile from the snene of the disaster. Deceased's wateli was stopped at nine minutes past I_, probably the time of the accident.
