(lit KLEUntIC IELKGHAI'It.— COPYItIdHT.) Sydney, Aj)ril 7. News from the Solomon Inlands stufoh that. Howard, manager of Stevens' party, of Dunodin, has been murdered nt the Fiji Islands. While two boats containing recruits were proceeding to the French schooner lying oft' the Fiji Islands, the recruits capsized the boats in the surf and swam ashore. They purposely murdered the boats' crews us they landed, and it is believed that the bodies of the unfortunate men were afterwards cooked and caton. Hobaut, April 8. At midnight the lonic arrived from Plymouth via the Cape. She sails for Wellington at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The lonic brings 29 passengers for Australia and 24 for New Zealand. Adelaide, April 8. Mr J. R. Cox, Delegate of the Irish party under the leadership of Mr Justin McCarthy has arrived here from London.
