WAITOA ROAD BOARD.

Tui: ordinary monthly meeting of the abo ve-named board took place in the Nottingham Castle Hotel, Morrinsville, last Saturday. Present : Messrs W. P. Chepmell (iu the chair), K. W. Hanmer, .1. Horroli, K. Parr, and J. Turnbuil. Messrs Parr and llaiinicr, who had been appointed a committee to receive nml deal with tenders for widening and deepening Johnson's creel: extension ''rain, reported that they accepted th'! tender of James Parr at £40. McCabe, £oii (accept- d) As the above work will benefit the property of Mr Holden, he lias promised conditionally to contribute £20 towards the cost of the work. For the work connected with Lovcgrove's road, the tender of Jas. Collins was accepted at £15. The engineer was instructed to get the ti-lree cut on the road and the drain cleaned out aloug tlie tide of the road on the north of Section 10, Block XII., Waitoa survey •iisisict, for which Mrs K. Burke has promised to contribute a third of the cost. The engineer was also instructed to get a ditch cleaned out along a part of the Waioi'ongomai road.
