WAIKATO HOSPITAL AND CHART TABLE AID BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of the above Board was held m the Hamilton Borough Council Chambers yesterday, when them were present--Messrs Primrose (chairman). Ilanuier. Clements, Browne, Coates, McCuirk, L<ng, Anderson, Soddon, and Chepmell.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Ragi.an County.—Mr Hay wrote, saying that the Raglan County Council had confessed judgment for £s(i -Is 10 J, the claim against them by the Board. The matter was left in Mr Hay's hand. Rkkl'GH. — Messrs Primrose's and Seddon's actions were continued in admitting an old man into the Refuge.

Extknsiox ok lii'iLUis-cs. —Considerable discussion ensued upon this question, and Mr Chepmell moved—" That the proposed extension of buildings be not carried out, and that as soon as a sufficient amount of money has come in over and above requirements, that .y 100 be set aside in the bank at fixed d°posit for nine months.'' Seconded by Mr Ilanuier.—Mr White, tho architect, was present and explained the extension. The first plan of extension would cost £020 7s Bd, and the modified plan would cost £520. —Mr Lang moved as an amendment —"That a dining-room be put up at the Hospital, as part of the additions, at a oost 0f.t'150." Seconded by Mr Anderson.—On the amendment being put, there voted for it: Messrs Coates, McQuirk, Lang. Anderson, Teasdale, and Seddon ; and against it : Messrs Hanmer, Clements, Btowne, and Chepmell. The amendment was, therefore, carried.—Tho motion was then altered to road, instead of £400, 6250, and was carried unanimously.

Leave oi' Absexck.—Dr Kenny wrote, asking for a month's leave of absonce, and also asking for a honorarium for the use of his surgical instruments when tho Board liad none, and also othor favours.—The doctor's application for a holiday was granted, on condition that lie find a qualified substitutp to be approved of by the House Committee, Dr Kenny's pay to run on and tho substitute not to be paid more than i'2s, provided the payment is legal. By-law.—Mr Coates enquired if by-law No. 11l was attended to as it should be, vi/., that an inventory of all surgical instruments belonging to the board made out and presented to the board at the April moetiug. It wuh resolved that the doctor be instructed to do so, and present same at the noxt meeting.
