It will be remembered that at the last meeting of thu Kirikiriroa Road Board a letter was received from -Mr F. Laurie, of Nuariiiiwahi.'i, complaining of the unreasonable lenuth of time that the gates of the bridge at Ngaruawahia are closed to the public. In November last I carefully considered the matter with a view to rendering such detention as short aa possible with a due regard to safety. The following are the arrangements :-—Daily : Gates closed 10-0 a in., train duo 10.25 a.m.; gates closed 11 a.m., train due 11.5 a.m. ; ga:cs closed I'J.OIS p.m., train due. V2.'Sri p.m. ; gates closed 1.'26 p.m., train due l.oli p in.
