Joseph Eaworth Bradley, late branch manager of the English, Scottish. and Australian Bank in Sydney, has been arrested here on a charge of embezzling £700, the property of the bank, though the defalcations are believed to bo much more extensive than the .sum named. A large sum of money was found in his possession. March 6. Sir T. Elder has returned to the colony having been reluctantly compiled to come to the conclusion that it is impossible to carry out bis Antarctic expedition at present.
