KIRIKIRIROA ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Kirikiriroa Road Board was hold at the Waikato County Council Chambers at 2 p.m. yesterday. There were present Messrs Primrose, chairman, Maclean, Coatos, Gillett and White.

Bad Road.—Mr 0. A. Devis wrote complaining about tho bad state of the Tramway road running through his property, and he asked that the Board do something to it as now the improvements are being made to Smith's Hill the trallic will be increased, and the road will be impassable ill winLer. The matter was left in the hands of Messrs Coates and GiMett to employ the surfaceman on the road for a week.

Petition, —A petition was received from a number of residents in and around laupiri pointing out tho dangerous state of the road between Ngaruawahia and Taupiri especially near the hill near Mr Geoffrey Hall's. The petition also pointed out that tho general excellence of the roads under the control of the Board made the state of this piece more noticeable. Mr White reported that the surfaceman was employed at this work.

Tenders.—The following tenders were received for grading the hill near Mr Smith's at Hinton's gully :—T. Clarkiu 7d per cubic yard and B. Murray Murray's tender was accepted. Complaint.—Mr Laurio wrote a long letter complaining of the unreasonable length of time that the gates at the bridsre at Xgamawahia were clsoed, sometimes amounting to two hours, during which numbers of people are detained at both ends of the bridge. He also pointed out that closing these gates also closed the road from tho east to tho west side of the line. The clerk was instructed to forward tho letter to the railway department. Funds. —The clerk reported that the Board's account was £205 Gs 4d in credit, while on the oth instant, rates amounting to £180 10s Cd were due. The Propertytax department notified hiving forwarded n voucher for tho payment of £92 Ins being 75 per cent of the estimated subsidy due to the Board for the year 1800-91. Mangawiiara Road.—'There was only one tonder for the work on the Mangawiiara road, viz., 2s Gd per chain by >Tns. Welsh. The tender was declined as being excessive, and the clerk was instructed to call for fresh tenders to bo in for a special meeting on tho 20th inst. Furze.—Messrs Maclean and White pointed out that the furze on the Xgarua-wahia-Tanpiri road near the Hopuhopu Estate had not been cut. The clerk was instructed to take proceedings against the trustees of the estate. Accounts. —Payment of the following accounts was authorised :—W. Millar, £3 ; M. Kiely, £5 4s 2d ; E. Johnson, £7 10s ; Clerk, £G 5s ; Collector, £5.
