A PACIFIC CABLE.

A 111 1,1. has been introduced in the Senate sanctioning the formation of a company with a capital of a million pounds to work a cable between San Francisco, Hawaiian Island-, Samoa, and Japan. It is proposed that the Treasury shall subsidise the undertaking to the extent of £10,000 h year for fifteen years.
