Sypxby, January 28. Dining a thunderstorm at Newcastle the top spars of the English barque Isle of Erin were demolished by lightning but fortunately none ot the crew were injured. Brisbane, January 21. Information has been received from New Guinea that a splendid gold-benr-iii"- reef has been discovered at Sudest. The reef, which shows heavy gold throughout, has been traced for a distance of a mile.
