Tin: Dundee dockers hare refused to come out on strike in sympathy witli tli' l niilwny hands. It is now believed that the gasome-t-r explosions which recently took place at, Glasgow wen: not un accident as at first supposed, lint that they were exploded by means of dyimmito. January 21. The -railway strike has collapsed. In the Court to-day. application for the arrest men! of railway stl'iko funds was granted. The efforts of the Karl <<( Alp i-deen. who was mediating in the railway strike, proved futile. The House of Commons has rejected Mr Ohanning's resolution, that, the Board of Trade should limit the hours of railway hands to eight hours per day. The Government announced that it was proposed to .set up :i committee to inquire into the matter.
