These repairs were ab.solutwly or I should not have) hiui them done without authority. 1 have made a separate report on Air Isaacs road, which T enclose. To Kauri, the contractor for the Cambridge-Tauramra bush road maintenance, Irn fulfilled his contract faithfully, and I .send a voucher for the contract monies, viz., £12 to December 31st. Since that date, four larue trees have fallen down across the road, and Te Kauri has removed them at u cost of '.Is—one and a-half days labour—and I have added this to his account. Air F. Hose, of Oxford, lias carried out; his contract for keeping the bridges and approaches on tho Oxford-Mstamata Rnad, near Oxford, in eood order and condition, and be is entitled to the i-uir of .1)10 for the same, for which I forward a vouchor. With regard to the, repairs to thu Wair.rare bridge on thu Te ArohaLichfield lioad, I pot two pipes from the Waikato Timber Company at Waotu, :tiid employed Mr J. Wright to build the same in. He has done so, and I forward the accounts connected herewith for labour nnd iron. There will also bu an account for the hire of a monkey and encine from the Waitoa Road board, and I estimate the total cost at .t2O Us Ud. I enclose iin account for an additional payment to Geo. Walker on his contract No 11, Oxford-Matnmatu road. The sum of £10 lis 8d is for pipes for which lie has had to pay, £1 is for repairing Alangawliurn bridpD handrails ; the sum of . l — 10* having been voted for repairs to the cutting and bridge, and >JI I.os was paid at the last meeting for earthwork. I. also allow for 102 yards short measurement on con tracts No 11 at the Okorniri station ground, I having missed the cutting altogether when measuring up the job as it was not pointed out.—The report was adopted.
