DR. WADDINGTON AT TE AROHA.
Wk find that some statements in our issue nf the 13th., in reference to Dr. \\ aldington's intended operations at ie Aroha, wero read more literally than we had intended them to bo. As showing tho extended circulation of The V, aikato Iniiis, within a few hours of the publication, the doctor received no less than throo applications for admission to his house, from patients residing in localities remoto fiom To Aroha. To avoid further misapprehension and disappointment, the doctor wrote an explanatory letter to the editor of the To Aroha News, which runs as tollows ;— To the E iitor Silt,—A paragraph appeared in The Waikato Timus of the loth lust., alluding to my recent removal frorn Cambridge to this place, and, whilst I thank tho writer for his good-natured remarks, I feel compelled to correct the following serious misconception regarding my efforts towards supplying a much needed want I —efforts only delayed and handicapped for want of means. Tho extinct from the pari'graph to which I allude is '• When the various changes have neeii effected, the doctor will have a well appointed hospital on a small scale in which to receive and treat his patients. Ihe fact is T have no intention whatover of making my hotiso a hospital in any shape or form, aud the statement quoted above is calculated to mislead and disappoint many. What I am strivine to cairy out as quickly as I am able, and with all the energy I possess, is to set apart a number of rooms for tho scientific practice of massage, electrotherapeutics, and hydro-therapeutics, ami to furnish them with all necessary medical appliances. Tho vast proportion of these ca=es are chronic, and, whoro tho nervous system is at fault, of long standing, ihe treatmont can bo effectually carried out by personal attendance at my house, whilst sufferers are residing at hotels, or in lodgings.—l am, etc., En. Waddinrtos, M.D.
