SOUTH AUCKLAND RACING CLUB. A meeting of the committee <>t tho above club was held in Tin-: Waikato Timkh Buildings last nigbt. There was a good attendance nf members, Mi (.!. Kdgectimbe being in tho chair. The lion, sec. Mr (A. H. Carter, presented the balance-sheet in connection witli the last meeting of the club, which Rave some fcliO profit. Out nf this sum the cost of the many improvements to the course, which is now in excellent order, will be ji.ii'l arid thr. club will be loft with onlv a small liability of lots than S2O, which will be wiped oil at the next meeting. The da to of the Autumn meeting was fixed for Saturd'V, April 4th, being the Saturday following E**ter. The question of stakes was not cone into. b.i' they will be fixed at a montim? l:o be held later on. In the conversation which followed hefo-a the meeting broke up very general satisfaction was at tho financial position of the club, This club is one of the few clubs, it not the only one, in the North Island that has not hid an overdraft or a mortgage on its property. Too much credit cannot be «iveu to tho Secretary, Mr (!. H. Carter, for the manner in which lie has conducted all mutters connected with the club, bringing about such a satisfactory result.
