It is believed that ft syndicate, which includes Lord has offered to make Brisbane the first port of call, and the last port of departure for steamers of the proposed AustralianVancouver line, and Sydney to be tho terminal port, if the Governments of Queensland and New South Wales subsidise the line to the extent of £15,000 per annum each. If this offer is accepted, it is believed that the Canadian Pacific Railway Company will arrange to construct the Pacific cable.
