While searching for the deceased, George Shallock found the body of another mail in the Kakaia river bed. The murderer Ma,hi Kai, before the death sentence was passed on him, made a statement implying that he was shielding the actual murderer. Two men have been traced of the name mentioned, one of whom was not meant and the other was conclusively proved not have been near the scene (if the mudcr. The Executive Council to-morrow will fully settle Mabi Kai's fate. DUNE DIN, Last Night. The case of the shore party on .uacqnurrie Island is being closely investigated by the Government. The relatives of the men are much alarmed at the prospects of the scarcity of foorl, but good authorities state there is sufficient life sustaining food on the island.
