Ho was brought to Auckland by the evening train charged ivttli utteriutT « forced promissory note f<ir £2.) 10» with intent to defraud. The accused is alleged to have uttered the promissory note upon James Rae, pawnbroker, of Elhett-street. He was brought before the Police Court and remanded.

Dr. Giles agreed with the remarks of Mr Cordon that this was an undesirable state of tilings, but was not a matter for the Court but for the Inspector to deal) with. The animal scholarship examinations commenced to-day.
