The charge against Kerei Kaihuu, for having on the 2nd October, removed a trig station, crected on behalf of the Government, at 'Waitakaruru, -\vas heard at the police court, to-day, before the Resident Magistrate. Mr Miller uppcureri for the prosecution. Evidence was given by Messrs Ncal, Peter Hunter, "Wilkinson, and Sergeant Gillies, after which the accused made a statement to effect that he had pulled down the trig station, under instructions from Tawhiao, who desired that an investigation ink) the trouble that occurred through tho fighting at "ty uitara should be brought about. The accused was committed for trial. Accused's brother, Henure Kaihan, applied for bail, but tho lI.M, refused it. r OHRLSTCHURCH, Lust Night, The body of a young woman named Charlotte Leech was discovered floating downi the Avon yesterday. She was missed from her employment three weeks ago. The body is much decomposed. DUNEDIN, Last Night. The Star says that the intention of the Legislature is being frustrated by u number of seamen who have already cast their votes depositing them with the Collector Mr Chamberlain whom they told they were clearing for England.
TIMABU, Last Night. Dr. P. Mclntyre an old practitioner here, and whose namo became generally known through the Hall poisoning case, died this morning.
