In this county two ridings wore contested viz., Patetere and Waitoa and in both the contest was keen as will ba seen by the votes polled. In ouch case a new member his been elected, Mr J. S. Brown for Patetere, and Mr Mark Harrison for Walton, both being at the head of the poll in their respective districts. The following is a detailed result. Patetere riding: J. S. Browne, 37 ; A. Ueaney, 23, elected ; and W. L. C. William?, 22. Waitoa riding M. Harrison, 04 ; W. I*. Chepmell, 01 ; J. Horrell, 6i), elected ; and H. D. Johnson. 46. _
