Today's values are:—Prime milling, Is 7d, heavy feed Iβ 5d to Is 6d, ordinary Is 3d to Is 4d per bushel f.u.b., sacks extra. Potatoes,—There is no improvement in the position of this market, and the season being so far advanced, it is almost hopeless to expect any. Values are nominal. Dairy produce.—Butter 7.id to Bd, cheese 3d to 4d per Ib. Ddnkdin, October 16.—Wheat: There is m> perceptible change in the market since dute of our last report. While all sorts are saleable—more especially prims velvet and Tuscan—buyers do not evince any very keen desire to operate or give higher prices for their moderate requirements. The market, however, is bare of good milling, and in the event of an improvement in the demand for flour, business in wheat would certainly assume a mnch stronger tone. A considerable quantity of fowls' wheat could be disposed of if paces were suitable ; but, rather than pay tk* yrhes demanded, consumers prefer to •■• cheaper feod, such as barley, which is efcnost unsaleable for anything else, and, although not so desirable, dues very well ae a substitute for wheat. We quote : Prime milling velvet and Tuscan, 3s Od to 3s 10d ; medium to good, 3s 5d to 3s 8d ; beet red wheac (nomiual), 3a 6'd to 3s 8d ; medium, 3s 4d to 3s Gd ; inferior, 3s 3d to 3s 4d (ex store, sacks weighed in, terms). Oats: There are buyers for stout bright feed and milling, and Miy such offering can be readily placed at prices about oquul to those quoted last week, Small lots of inferior and discoloured are also saleable, although large parcels of the latter would be difficult to place. The dtmuind at present, however, is supposed to be pmaif speculative, as outside markets do not tffer »t the moment any inducement to ofMiate, even at tho present low level of prices. At tho same time, a very slight outside demand would harden prices considerably ; in aDy casu thoy cannot well go vury much lower. Wo quote stout bright milling. Is 4d ; best short bright feed, Is 3d to Is 3Jd ; medium, Is 2d to Is 2irt ; black, Is 2d to Is 2.Jd ; musty and inferior, Is to Is 2d (ex store, sacks extra, net cash). —Potatoes : There is no improvement in the demand, and parcels difficult to place at a reduction on last week's quotations, which were 15s to 35s per lon (sacks weighed in).— Dairy Produce : Cheeae has had soma slight inquiry during the week for local consumption, but a very limited quantity suffices fur this purpose, and will have no effect on late quotation?, say ; 4d to for medium size factory made ; 4|d to 4i;d for loaf.—Butter is coining to market in larger quantities than can very well be disposed of. Quotations nominal.
