HUNTLY MINERS.
Tin-; Huntly miners arc still all out on strike, and tho only mine being worked i.s the Timpiri Extended Company's mine. This mine is being worked with free labour and the output is close on 100 tons per day. There was one free labourer up by yesterday's train, and beyond a ltttle chaft" he was not interfered with. At present there are six police and Inspector Emerson stationed at Huntly and a barrack will be erected at once. Inspector Emerson says that with one exception he has hud no trouble so far, and although there i.s generally a crowd jit the station on the arrival of trains from Auckland, ho has had no trouble in keeping, them oft' the platform, and the working of the Railway Department has been in no way impeded. The one exception referred to was when one of the free labourers who was fresh from the city find rather fancied himself, came into Huntly against the Inspector's orders, but he was glad enough to beat a hasty retreat into his own quarters again. None of the free labourers are allowed to come into Huntly, and any commissions they require done are done by the police. Mr \V. Ralph arrived from Auckland on Saturday on business, connected with the mine.
