READ, MARK, LEARN, INWARDLY DIGEST. THE FINEST BAKING POWDER IN THE WORLD IS ' THE ' BAKING POWDER MANUFACTURED from the PUREST and MOST WHOLESOME IN GREDIENTS. It is one of the most important discoveries ever made by mankind, becausc it conduces so lr.uch to the health of families. PUDDINGS WITHOUT TEAST. BREAD WITHOUT TEAST. PASTRY WITH LESS , BUTTEE. DIRECTIONS FOR USE. TO MAKE BREAD.—To every pound of flour add a large teaspoonful of the Baking Powder, the usual quantity of salt with each pound of fiour, in a dry state; then pour on about half-a-pint of cold water or milk, mix quickly into a dough of the same consistence as when using yeast, taking care not to knead it more than necessary. It is most important that the oven should be sufficiently hot. PASTRY, PIE CRUSTS, &c.—Mix about half-a-teaspoonful of the Powder with a pound of flour, then work in about half the usual quantity of butter, dripping, or lard. PIiUM, SUET, and OTHER PUDDINGS should never be made without it. A teaspoonful to a pound of flour makes them both light and digestible, and effects a great saving in eggs and butter. NORFOLK DUMPLINGS. —Prepare as for Bread, put into boiling water immediately and boil twenty minutes without taking the lid off. SCONES.—Use same quantities as for Bread, using sweet milk or water. COPY OF ANALYTICAL REPORT. Laboratory, Hobson-street, Auckland, June 13, 1884. " I have sampled the Baking Powder in the bulk, prepared by Mr John Buchanan, Merchant, Auckland, and have analysed the same and find the constituents pure and well-proportioned. " The result of my examination proves this article to be superior to any either imported or colonially prepared that has been submitted to me, and I can, therefore, confidently recommend it to the publie."
