The Waikato Times Office, Wednesday. MARK KT REPORTS. Tim Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report, under date Adelaide, August I.—Wheat: There has been an improved demand for wheat, and we havo olfected sales at 3s lOd per bushel wn trucks, Port Adelaide, for prime milling parcels, at which figure the market closes steady to day. Under date, 20th lilt., our London house wired us as follows : —"The weather is favourable for the crop here. Adelaide wheat is warth 38s (id and Victorian wheat 38s per 4!) li lbs., ex warehouse. Victorian wheat to arrive, iron ship, is worth c.i.f. 37s l»d per ISO lb.. JuneJuly b.l."—Floor: There is a slight improvement in tho demand for flour, consequent on millers advancing prices in sympathy with the higher rates ruling in the wheat market. Best patent roller is quoted at £8 los to £<J per ton ; country superfine, £7 10s to £7 los ; household, £5 10s to £5 las, f.o.b , Port Adelaido.—Oats (duty, 2s per cental): A small business is passing, feed oats selling at 2s per bushel, in bond, gross weight, bags included. Sydney, August 7.—Wheat (free): The market continues unchanged, 'U !)d being current value for prime Now South Wales milling. Stocks are being quickly reduced, however, and holders are disinclined to sell at present prices.—Oats (free): Transactions under this heading still continue on quite n retail scale, but values remain lirm, and we to-day quota best descriptions of feed oats at from 2s to 2s Id, medium and inferior qualities ruling proportionately. Potatoes (free): Prices, as we anticipated when writing on the 23rd ultimo, have since weakened, the receipts during tho past fortnight having been very heavy, fully 40,000 sacks having come to hand. and we cannot to-day quoto prime New Zealand at above £3 10s per ton, Tasmanians ruling at £3 to £3 ss. As soon, however, as tho evisting "glut" has been worked off we look for a recovery in values, provided shipments are not again excessive. Dunedin, August 7.—Wheat: Owing doubtless to tho firmer tone lately reported of the market at Home purchasers in the local market—both skippers and millers —have been showing more disposition to do business, and are now picking up all available lots of prime quality stdl left in store, which are exceedingly limited. Second-class wheat, if in shipping condition, is also more readily disposed of, and at advanced rates. There is an increased demand for fowl wheat, but only on rare occasions can any class of wheat be bought under 3s, except broken or mixed with other seeds. We quoto prime milling velvet and Tuscan, 3s 5d to 3s Oi : extra prime a shide more; medium to good, 3s 3d to 3s 4d ; inferior to medium, 2s ltd to 3s (ex store, sacks weighed in, terms).—Oats : The market, while firm at last week's quotations, has lint further improved to any appreciable, extent; and beyond the disposal of a few lots suitable for milling and nn occasional lot for shipment the business passing is limited. There has been some inquiry by speculators during the week, which may result in some further business being elfected ; but in the meantime shippers are not anxious to do business except at a reduction on late ruling rates. A much larger quantity would have been shipped Home on growers 1 account if suitablu steamer freights could bo secured ; even now engagements havo been made for several large parcels, which can hardly fail to turn out more to the shippers' advantage than to quit at present prices locally. There are no indications of any immediate improvement in tho intercolonial markets. Wo quote best feed milling, Is 3Jd to Is 4d ; medium to good, Is 2\d to Is 3Ad ; inferior and musty, Is to Is 2d (ex store, sacks extra, net). —Potatoes: The market is more than fully_ supplied with medium quality, and are difficult to place at satisfactory prices, while prime are difficult to procure. We quote prime, few to 117s lid ; inferior to medium and good, 50s to (;0s ; kidneys, 35s to 45s per ton. Chkistohuiich, August 8. — Wheat: Owing to favourable harvest weather, the Home market has weakened somewhat, but it has had no immediate effect on prices here, as holders of tonnage take all lota offered at full rates. To-day's prices are :— Tuscan 3s Pearl 3s 2d, Hunter's White 3s por bushel f.0.b., sacks 3xtra. Oats continueslowof sale, and prices are without alteration. Prime milling Is (id to Is 7d, stout feed Is 5d to Is lid, ordinary seed Is 3d to Is 4d per bushel, ex store, sacks extra. Owing to the uncertainty of being able to ship to the other side, caused by the threatened strike, demand has slackened, and prices are a shade lower. To-day's quotations are:—Blue Derwents 42s (Id per ton at country stations. Dairv produce: liutter 8d to H.'.d, cheese 3d to 3:' id per lb.
