It is asserted that Major Palma, whom Dr. Celman declared to be an informer, has been poisoned. The Cabinet has decided in favour of forced currency. The Government continues Treasury payments, suspending commercial only. Everything is tranquil, iv.ul order is being maintained. August 5. The President's principal supporters have quarrelled with him for refusing to fulfil his promise to resign after order was restored. "Dr. Oelman's house is guarded, lest an attempt should bo made to surprise him.
