DIRECTIONS PGR USE. TO MAKE BREAD.—To every pound of flour add a large teaspoonful of tlia Baking Powder, the usual quantity of salt with each pound of Hour, in a dry state; then pour 011 about half-a-pint of cold water or milk, mix quickly into a dough of the same consistence as when using yeast, tiking care not to knead i-t more than nccessary. It is most important that the oven should be sufficiently hot. PASTRY, PIE CRUSTS, &c.—Mix about half-a-teaspoonful of the Powder with a pound of flour, then work in about half the usual quantity of butter, dripping, or lard. PLUM, SUET, and OTHER PUDDINGS should never be made without it. A teaspoonful to a pound of flour makes thorn both light and digestible, and cffucts a g.'iat saving in eggs and butter. NORFOLK DUMPLINGS.-Prepare as for Broad, put into boiling water immediately and boil twenty minutes without taking the lid off. SCONES.—Use same quantities as for Bread, using sweet milk or water.
